about freedom doran
FOUNDER + CEO OF NETHRIAL
Freedom Doran was born in Monte-Carlo, Monaco on 22nd March 2002. At age 5 he moved from Monaco to live in and around London for 6 years before moving to Liverpool at aged 11.
Freedom is an entrepreneur through and through, his obsession with business started by accident when he was extremely interested in Scootering and used to visit his local skatepark every day after school. He soon realised that his peers had lots of spare and broken parts so he started to fix them, spray paint them and then sell them on eBay for some extra money. Doing this for 6 months he made over £1000 and then focused on his school.
Taking a break from business, at the age of 12-14 he was a model and actor working for the likes of BBC, Formula 1, ITV, Sky 1 and Studio24.
His entrepreneurial spirit soon came back in the form of a clothing brand, after scooting he started becoming eager to enter the fashion world after seeing the rise of menswear and key menswear pioneers such as A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton and Jaden Smith. When his brother asked him to start a clothing brand he was right on it and that's how Marzenie began. Translating to Dream in polish, Marzenie was a 24 piece collection of t-shirts, hoodies, caps and swimwear aimed at 12 - 24 year olds who wanted plain items with a pop of graphic design, he screen printed all of these from his shed for 1/2 years before stopping to focus on GCSE's and his health.
On November 1st 2017, Freedom was diagnosed with lower stomach cancer at Alder Hey. His GCSE's were in May and so he had his operation on the 3rd November and started 6 months of intense chemotherapy treatment from 8th November through to 10 May 2018. Just 6 days after his chemotherapy ended, he started his GCSE's achieving 3 A*'s, 4 A's and 2 B's. Being who Freedom is and with nothing to do after the closure of Marzenie, he was searching the internet for over 20 minutes trying to find one site which accommodated low end through to high end fashion, home and beauty items. He found nothing and so that's where the birth of Nethrial came about on 27th October 2017.
He made the decision to fully focus on Nethrial during and after his GCSE's and so attended all London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Men's shows and trade shows from London to Berlin to get a curation of brands that would make Nethrial a one-stop shop for 13-34 year olds no matter weather it be an emerging brand or established and across fashion, home and beauty. Spanning from customer service, finance, website design through to social media, campaigns and brand directing, Freedom covers it all and there is not one detail that he doesn't know.
Freedom now hires 8 staff and the company stocks over 160 brands.
